Frequently Asked Questions

What is STEM?

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Engaging students in STEM subjects is a current Australian Government national priority to ensure the prosperity of our country. Developing STEM skills helps students to measure, analyse and evaluate the world around them.

What are STEMkits?

STEMkits are a series of hands-on STEM activity kits for Prep to Year 6 students that are aligned with the National Science Curriculum. They include everything the students need for the activities, plus practical support for the teacher, all at a low cost.

Isn't STEM about robotics and coding?

No! While robotics and coding are important subjects, they are only one component of STEM.

Are the activities dangerous?

Absolutely not! Our team at STEMkits have worked tirelessly to remove risks - plastic test tubes have replaced glass, chemicals have been replaced with cooking ingredients, and so on. The safety of STEMkits gives teachers the confidence to incorporate the activities into their teaching.

Our classrooms don't have sinks or powerpoints available for equipment. Can we use STEMkits?

Yes, you can! We have designed STEMkits to be used without the need for powerpoints or running water/sinks. This way, no classroom misses out!
